MomoCon 2023 Partners With Sony Pictures on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse World Record

Come to the Georgia World Congress Center for an attempt at the most simultaneous Spider-Man cosplays

ATLANTA, GA — May 15, 2023 — MomoCon 2023, the largest celebration of gaming, anime, and pop culture in the Southeast United States which takes place Thursday, May 25 to Sunday, May 28, collaborates with Sony Pictures to break the world record for the most Spider-Man cosplayers in a single location. This collaboration is in celebration of the highly anticipated film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, arriving in theaters Friday, June 2, 2023.

The current world record stands at 601 people dressed as Spider-Man, achieved in India following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. MomoCon invites all attendees as well as anyone in the local Atlanta area to join in the festivities to not only break the record, but raise the bar with 700+ Spider-men, Spider-women, and Spider-beings gathering in front of the Georgia World Congress Center near the registration hall on Saturday, May 27 at 2 PM ET.

MomoCon has always been home to exceptional cosplay, exhibiting a love for characters from all types of pop culture, comics, anime, and video games. In keeping with the multiverse-trotting adventures of the first award-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, what better time than now to gather Spider-Man fans and show off their creativity and passion for the iconic character? From Peter Parker to Miles Morales to Gwen Stacey and so many more versions of the web-head, anyone from any walk of life can embody the web-slinging hero.

“Spider-Man represents the good in this world and has since his debut more than 60 years ago,” said Co-Founder Chris Stuckey. “It’s the sort of character that can be molded for so many wonderful interpretations while maintaining the iconic heroism of Spider-Man. We cannot wait to see everyone at Momocon and Atlanta itself flex their creative skills as we attempt to crush this record!”
