Tommy Fury ridiculed for becoming M&S food ambassador despite lack of cooking skills

Tommy Fury has been announced as the new face of M&S food, but fans have been quick to mock the appointment because he can’t cook. The 23-year-old boxer announced the collaboration by sharing a photograph on Instagram of himself wearing an M&S apron while standing in front of a plate of roast chicken, roast potatoes, and vegetables. Fury said he was excited to announce that he is now an Ambassador for Marks and Spencer. However, during his time on the 2019 series of Love Island, Tommy admitted he was unable to cook an omelette or even make a cup of tea. He also struggled to make a cheese sandwich and ended up drowning it in ketchup and mayo during a date with fellow islander Maura Higgins.

Fans have mocked the new collaboration on social media, questioning Tommy’s credentials for the role. One user wrote, “Brilliant, another chef as experienced as Brooklyn Beckham”. Another follower asked, “Since when were you a chef?”, while another wrote, “It’s obvious he didn’t cook it”. Another follower joked, “You should’ve put up the dinner you made on Love Island.” One user asked for a video of Tommy cooking the food himself.

Despite the criticism, Tommy seemed excited about the partnership. He stated that he was “excited for what’s to come”, but fans are questioning what he can bring to the role given his lack of cooking experience.
