Construction remains one of the UK’s most closely watched industries for health and safety enforcement. HSE’s latest annual figures show 25 construction workers were killed in Great Britain in 2025/26 — still the highest total of any sector, even after a sharp fall from 35 the previous year — with falls from height accounting for around half of all construction deaths.
