Claridge’s Iconic Collection of Furniture, Lighting, and Artwork to be Auctioned

Maybourne Hotel Group, renowned for managing some of the world’s most prestigious hotels, including Claridge’s, The Connaught, and The Berkeley, is set to auction a remarkable archive of stored pieces in collaboration with NCM Auctions.

This unique collection, spanning over a century, showcases works by esteemed designers such as David Linley, David Collins, and Ben Whistler. The auctions will feature antique furniture, bespoke commissioned pieces, lighting fixtures, artwork, and various other items that have adorned the group’s three iconic London hotels.

In a refreshing departure from conventional practices within the hospitality sector, Maybourne Hotel Group has chosen a sustainable and circular approach by entrusting NCM Auctions with the sale of its entire collection. Rather than selecting only high-value items, this decision allows the public unprecedented access to the collection while benefiting the local community, small businesses, and charities. By diverting these pieces from landfill and providing them with a second life through reuse, repair, and recycling, Maybourne Hotel Group actively contributes to the circular economy while reducing storage impact.

The collection will be presented through three exclusive online auctions, with the first taking place as a live auction on 27th July 2023.
